Editorial: Logic prevails at Willows High

Our view: Willows High School acted as if this was another Columbine in the making, but it was just a young adult going hunting before school.
Willows High School became the focus of national attention this month, and unfortunately few people from out of the area understood what makes Willows unique.
No surprise there, however. Even the Willows High School principal doesn't seem to have a finger on the pulse of the community.
Some tried to distort the story of a Willows High School junior who was kicked out of school because he drove to school after going duck hunting one morning and had two shotguns locked in his truck, which was parked off campus.
This is something that law-abiding young men have been doing for years during duck season in valley towns such as Willows, Maxwell and Colusa. It's duck hunting season and the Butte Sink area is one of the best places in the country to hunt ducks. Youths and adults have been doing that here for generations.
